Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES CTE-Facilities Utilization Assistant (Full-time, 12 months/yr.) in Spencerport, New York

This position is responsible for assisting in facility and inventory planning, moving and coordination regarding CTE instructional suites and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal condition to support hands-on learning experiences for students.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Surveys space, furniture, and equipment to assess need for maintenance, repair, or replacement.

  • Advises and assists program and building administrators in the selection, quantities and ordering of new equipment and/or relocating or storing existing equipment.

  • Coordinates inventory tracking and procedures and recommends changes to enhance efficiency.

  • Works with O&M, Technology Services, and Purchasing to coordinate electrical, plumbing, and other required services and infrastructure, color compatibility of furnishings with room color schemes and scheduling delivery and installation of furniture and equipment.

  • Coordinates with O&M reviewing of all proposed projects to ensure the timely execution of all work.

  • Utilizes computers and other technology to establish and maintain the following: work orders and repairs, maintenance schedules, inventory, scheduling of work, and the tracking of inspections, certifications and licenses for facilities and equipment

Job Qualifications

Must possess or meet requirements for Civil Service title Facilities Utilization Assistant.

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in inventory control, data entry, warehousing, or in positions involving the maintenance, recording, movement, or delivery of inventory.

Additional requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a CTE facility or similar setting, with knowledge of equipment and tools commonly used in technical education programs.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to the operation of CTE equipment, with a commitment to promoting a safe learning environment.

  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing facility, and equipment-related issues and challenges.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs and priorities within a dynamic educational environment.

  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in CTE programs and initiatives.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Good knowledge of furniture and equipment available and required in an agency or school district; organizational skill;; ability to establish effective working relationships; ability to create and maintain reports, records and purchase orders,; ability to operate a variety of office equipment; ability to plan, schedule and coordinate relocations and transfers; ability to perform mathematic computations; ability to ascertain market values of surplus inventory and set prices for resale; ability to maintain inventory; clerical aptitude; integrity; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
