Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST, Full-time, 12 months/yr. in Spencerport, New York

Provide communications, clerical support and event planning to BOCES 2 departments and area school districts

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Promote and publicize student, school, district, and BOCES 2 programs, accomplishments, activities and events

  • Write newsletters, brochures and special purpose publications

  • Manage and update internal and external websites

  • Take photographs and write news stories and press releases

  • Assist with planning special events, programs, and exhibits

  • Manage social media accounts

  • Coordinate purchase orders, manage supplies, track personnel documents

  • Keep records including information related to events, expenses and personnel

  • Perform other duties appropriate to the position as assigned

  • May include some evening and weekend commitments

  • Other duties as assigned by Communications Director or other BOCES 2 administrators

Job Qualifications

Must possess or meet requirements for Civil Service title of Information Specialist. Bachelor's degree plus related experience. Skills needed are news writing, copy editing, AP Style proficiency, basic photography, event planning, record keeping, phone etiquette and some clerical skills.
