NY Employer Loan Operations Manager - Spencer in Spencer, New York
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR DUTIES Ensures the prompt and efficient delivery of loan services to both external customers and bank personnel. Oversees the productive and accurate servicing of all loan accounts, e.g., credit inquiries, file development and maintenance, collateral control, loan reporting, etc. Actively manages retail mortgage, installments and open-end loan portfolios. Continually evaluates product lines, underwriting and rates, etc. Develops lending procedures for all types of retail loans and evaluates lenders adherence to policy. Develops and monitors procedures to ensure compliance of all lending regulation. Maintains extensive knowledge of all aspects of conforming and non-conforming residential mortgage lending, including programs sponsored by FHLB, US Department of HUD, FannieMae and Freddie-Mac. as well as Private Mortgage Insurance guidelines. Maintain extensive knowledge of all aspects of the various grant programs utilized to provide assistance to customers. Monitors all retail lending activities in the bank; ascertains the extent to which policies and procedures are properly followed; takes appropriate action to correct improper activities with respect to internal procedures, external regulation, etc. Responsible for directing and coordinating bank-wide standardization and uniformity of retail loans to include product knowledge; training and consistency of practices; customer information quality and integrity; retail loan knowledge and support; and regulatory compliance of customer information and standards. Analyze current or new processes affecting loans and assist with the testing, validation and implementation of loan products, promotions and services. Applications/modules are to be maintained in accordance to policies and procedures. Maintain data integrity on system applications/modules in compliance with applicable regulations and internal controls. Engage with team members to review activities/products/services, provide training/mentoring, and to develop/acknowledge individual/group performance in achieving goals. Communicate changes to department staff. Oversee and assist in resolving escalated operational and customer service issues, quality control issues or employee issues. Perform periodic employee reviews and communicate results to staff, together with action items/goals and improvement plans as needed; ensure performance is at acceptable level. Effectively address work/performance issues; consult with HR regarding formal disciplinary and/or termination procedures prior to taking action. Maintain schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times. Hire team members within area of responsibility. Interfaces with the Collector, as needed to assist in the collection of past-due loans and/or to protect the banks financial interests in a workout situation. Works with bank examiners on the loan section of the first day letter and takes action to correct deficiencies. Directly supervises the retail underwriting, processing and servicing staff. Develops and maintains expertise in the core system, including the development of queries and loan parameter maintenance. Participates in the development of new loan products and changes to existing products. Monitors policies and procedures to identify, address and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all regulations and laws for the department.
