SPENCER COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Technology Director in Spencer, Iowa

The Spencer Community School District in Spencer, Iowa is seeking a full-time Director of Technology to maintain and manage all district technology. This person will be responsible for the districts network and for coordinating the operation of all district related technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing an enterprise network environment (VLAN, VoIP, QoS)
  • Broad knowledge and experience with Windows OS, VMware, Google Apps for Education, and Chromebook management/G-Suite Admin Console
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Networking required (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS)
  • Experience with network capacity planning, security principles, and network management best practices
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve network and other technical related problems
  • Ability to offer vision and leadership to the technology team
  • Experience with firewalls/filtering platforms

REPORTS TO Superintendent

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Post high school education with vocational or college level degree in network administrator or related field. Technical certifications are highly desirable.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and advocacy as part of the district administrative team
  • Research and troubleshoot all technology related issues
  • Effectively work with and supervise the technology and media department team
  • Install, update, and maintain all district technology
  • Maintain the district technology inventory
  • Manage all district related data reports to be submitted to the State of Iowa as required
  • Prepare and submit all necessary E-Rate documentation
  • Develop and administer appropriate use policies
  • Continually expand training and skills in job-related areas to further improve and develop district technology
  • Ability to manage financial resources
  • Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, board policies, and administrative rules
  • Well organized and professional at all times
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward staff, students, parents and all other stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the School Improvement Department to ensure support and advocacy of

instructional technology

  • Understanding of application rostering including Clever, Data Extracts, SIF, and One Roster
  • Experience with a centralized point management system and reporting
