Location: Any BASF EMN/O Manufacturing location which are: East Setauket NY, Washington, NJ, Mauldin, SC, Whitestone, SC, Theodore, AL, Geismar, LA, Cincinnati, OH. The preferred locations are Geismar, LA, Mauldin or White Stone SC. Relocation is provided for these specific preferred 3 locations.

As Senior Manager of Engineering for Care Chemicals North America, you will put EM in the center of your actions. You will lead our North America engineering team and you will be accountable for the successful planning and execution of EM’s capital projects across the North American production sites. As a member of the EM North America Operations Leadership team, you will have the opportunity to engage and contribute globally. This position will preferably be located in Geismar, LA, Cincinnati, OH, or Spartanburg, SC.

In this role, you will provide technical and project management support to 8 sites within the region, as well as plan, manage, coordinate, and execute all resources, internal and external, that are involved in the delivery of engineering support services and project execution to Care Chemicals production sites in North America.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you create chemistry by...

• Leveraging your experience in Operations, Capital Projects, and Technical Services, you will maintain technical accountability for Care Chemical capital investment projects across North America.

• Leveraging your experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Maintenance and Process Improvement within a chemical or process plant environment, you will function as the point of contact for capex projects for EM regional Manufacturing in North America with its 8 production sites, with strong link to individual Global Engineering community.

• Relying upon your project leadership and project management experience utilizing the phase gate process, you will participate in or lead global, regional, or local key value add initiatives that are aligned with and contribute to EM Business targets.

• Your organization skills in resource planning and task management will be essential, as you conduct planning discussions with linked site personnel and regional Engineering teams to coordinate capex projects preparation, scoping, staffing and work execution.

• Demonstrating your exceptional customer focus and ability to network, you will closely interact with multiple organizational levels at supported EM sites, regional and global Management and Engineering and other functional units locally, regionally, and globally.

• Combining your excellent interpersonal and communication skills with your ability to lead and manage an organization of highly skilled project management and discipline engineering resources, you will be responsible for talent development and management of EM Engineering personnel at individual sites.

• Applying your ability to oversee, define, negotiate, and evaluate capex-related external services and materials contractors, suppliers, and contracts, you will develop work management and execution strategies for EM capex projects in the region, with best fit to individual Business and sites requirements.

• Your strong technical background in Technology, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering and ability to work autonomously within a global and virtual environment with minimal direct managerial oversight will serve you well, as you evaluate options and solutions in the respective areas of expertise.

• Utilizing your work experience in Capital project execution and your working knowledge of EM manufacturing processes and assets, including global aspects of standardization, modularization, execution strategies and global sourcing, you will drive efficiency and effectiveness across functional group support to EM capex projects and sites, particularly EHS and Procurement.

Operations Experience within Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction , Maintenance and Process Improvement

Strong leadership experience, developing and managing talents
