Robert Half Materials Planner in Sparta, Michigan
Description
We are on the lookout for a diligent Materials Planner to join our team within the manufacturing industry in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will primarily manage material requirements, ensure supply chain efficiency, and coordinate inventory management and production schedules.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently manage procurement, inventory control, and material movement processes using SAP software
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to facilitate timely and accurate material delivery
• Proactively work with suppliers to monitor lead times, anticipate possible disruptions, and resolve any supply chain issues
• Regularly analyze material usage patterns and adjust planning strategies to optimize inventory levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations
• Accurately forecast material requirements in alignment with production schedules and customer demand
• Generate reports on inventory status, material planning, and purchase orders on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
• Actively contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies in the supply chain and implementing corrective actions
• Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and health & safety regulations
• Maintain meticulous records of purchase orders, schedules, and all documents pertinent to material planning
• Utilize enterprise resource planning tools and software, such as Epicor and ERP solutions, to streamline accounting functions and buying processes
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Materials Planner role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly Epicor
• Solid understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Experience with ERP Solutions
• Knowledge of 'About Time' software
• Familiarity with basic Accounting Functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• In-depth understanding of Buying Processes
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
