Position Summary

Based at our Metal Tech manufacturing operation in Sparks, Nevada, the Production Supervisor oversees and participates in the manufacturing of products as determined by production schedules, forecasts, and work orders.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Leads the activities of employees; provides assistance to workers engaged in production activities; troubleshoots worker and production problems and recommends solutions. Engages in interactive communication. Trains workers in production methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies. Monitors comprehension and re-trains as necessary.

  • Participates in and oversees the production process, from beginning to end and ensures the quality of the product.

  • Supervises other employees, which includes: interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; motivating, evaluating, rewarding and disciplining employees.

  • Organizes the daily workflow based on direction from the Plant Manager and production schedules; ensuring each team in production is well informed of the daily tasks and deadlines set forth for the day.

  • Properly operates all tools and equipment based on safety procedures and specified guidelines. Maintains organized area and properly stores tools, materials, etc. Cleans working area by sweeping excess debris on a continuous basis to ensure a safe work area.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated supervisory experience in an industrial environment. Other desired qualifications include:

  • Preferred Education: Some coursework after high school or related trade experience.

  • Preferred Experience: Approximately 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on CNC equipment or welding.

  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish - Preferred.

  • Experience working with a Quality Control program.

  • Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word Processor).

  • Strong communications skills to include both verbal and written communication.

  • High mechanical aptitude - Preferred.
