Position: Revenue Accounting Senior Accountant in Southfield, MI.
Duties:
-Maintaining revenue integrity and focusing on revenue recognition and processes, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely global consolidated financial statement reporting.
-Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual global consolidated financial reporting including financial disclosures for revenue recognition, accounts receivable, work in process, and collections activity. Review for completeness and accuracy.
-Develop, implement, and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures in compliance with new and relevant accounting standards.
-Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue streams, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for revenue optimization. Monitor metrics and report to management highlighting risks and opportunities.
-Research authoritative accounting guidance in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
-Review agreements with clients to ensure appropriate revenue recognition methodologies are followed; including accounting for complex and unique transactions.
-Support integration of revenue accounting and order to cash core process for newly acquired entities. Ensure consistency of financial statement methodologies and classification across entities.
-Act as a business partner to colleagues across functions and consulting communities. Proactively provide information and solutions. Serve as a key resource to the organization for revenue accounting and reporting guidance and support.
-Initiate enhancements in the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of revenue assurance accounting processes.
-Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire order to cash value stream; including establishment of client engagement and contract review, invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash application.
-Create tools to facilitate monthly analytical review procedures.
-Identify opportunities to further leverage financial systems; improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external reporting.
Telecommuting permitted within MSA.
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analysis. Requires 1 year of experience in financial analysis, revenue accounting, or corporate accounting.
1 year of experience with each of the following skills:
-Using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI to analyze and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including financial disclosures for revenue recognition, accounts receivable, work in process, and collections activity.
-Creating visually appealing presentations and dashboards using PowerPoint Excel, and PowerBI.
-Researching U.S. GAAP technical accounting guidance to ensure compliance with existing standards and understand impact of pending standards.
-Reviewing agreements with clients to ensure appropriate revenue recognition methodologies are followed and are in compliance with US GAAP ASC606.
Requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
