Belle Tire Junior System Administrator in Southfield, Michigan

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our IST team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining, monitoring, and improving our systems and network infrastructure. Additionally, the candidate will provide "White Glove" deskside support to our corporate office users. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to grow their skills in systems engineering and administration. Duties and Responsibilities: * Systems Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, software applications, and network hardware. * User Administration: Work closely with Solution Center and HR teams to create, terminate and transfer all user accounts in the business. * Monitoring: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure systems and networks are running efficiently and securely. * Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. * Security: Support the implementation and maintenance of security measures to protect systems and data. * User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, helping to resolve hardware and software issues. * Computer Imaging: Assist in creation, maintenance and deployment of images to company devices. * Automation: Learn and assist in automating routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. * Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and other IT team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives. * Learning: Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge by participating in training sessions and obtaining relevant certifications. Qualifications Technical Skills: * Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.). * Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). * Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) is a plus. * Basic scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) are advantageous. * Understanding of cybersecurity principles. * Demonstrated identity management administration and general security best practices Soft Skills: * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively. * Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. * Excellent customer service * Demonstrated ability to communicate orally, in writing, and in a public presence. * Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with very little supervision. * Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment. Working Conditions: Work hours are typically 8-5, Mon-Fri, after-hours/weekend/holiday work is required during maintenance or incident response. The office environment requires long periods of sitting operation of standard office equipment. Requires some travel to Belle Tires store locations, Corporate Headquarters and Distribution Center. Some lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, grabbing, and reaching. Belle Tire is an equal opportunity employer.
