Area Agency On Aging 1-b DIRECTOR OF HEALTHCARE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & PROGRAM MANAGEMENT in Southfield, Michigan

The Director of Healthcare Business Development and Program Management will function as a strategic business partner reporting to the CEO, helping formulate strategy and executing new business initiatives in healthcare and Medicare/Medicaid services. The Director will identify, develop, and pursue additional business opportunities in accordance with agency growth initiatives. This role is responsible for the creation of project plans and objectives, identifying and tracking critical path activities, interdependencies, risk and mitigation, and scenario planning. This position will prepare and present strategic business presentations to Agency leadership, board members, and shareholders. This position will be tasked with developing and leading the new business function. The Director will ensure effective execution of project initiatives in support of the business strategy plan.

Duties:

  • Explore, evaluate, and propose new business initiatives for untapped areas of healthcare and/or Medicare and Medicaid services within the scope of operations and in support of AgeWay’s mission.

  • Formulates project objectives and processes by obtaining and maintaining effective multilevel communication/relationships with contractors, clients and stakeholders. Effectively manages RFP’s, timelines, budgets, phase alignment, and follow-up.

  • Generate reports, presentations and maintain communications with the CEO, Board of Directors, and shareholders to keep abreast of project outline, scope, findings, options, work plans, and project status.

  • Develop, negotiate, and execute contracts in alignment with agency initiatives and best business practices. Ensures financial and strategic goals are met according to key performance indicators.

  • Plan, develop, initiate, and assess the internal operations efficiencies for acquired new business. Lead the new business function forward through continuous growth.

  • Ensures program/project compliance and effectiveness, including issue resolution and risk mitigation.

    Maintains current knowledge regarding market conditions, industry best practices, and client/customer/operational needs in order to yield consistent strategic decision-making and to drive operational excellence.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree minimum in Business/Healthcare Administration. Masters degree preferred.

  • Must have 5 years of minimum experience, including project management skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with program development, implementation, and ongoing program oversight.

  • Must be self-directed, results driven, analytical, detail oriented, solid understanding of financials including the ability to optimize outcomes within budgetary constraints.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. Able to interact with all levels of employees, external stakeholders, public officials, and top level executives is necessary.

  • Possesses exceptional presentation, business development and contract negotiation skills.

  • Function in a highly demanding position, strong multitasking ability, meeting deadlines and delivering a high-quality product.

  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare commercial Insurance, healthcare services and/or senior housing.

  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook required.
