Sierra Nevada Corporation Sr Technical System Administrator (Hybrid and Remote Eligible) in Southern Pines, North Carolina

The Technical Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure both located within the Business Area Network and Internet based. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, Partners, and customers.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • TRAX Technical System Administrator is expected to be available to support, assist and answer questions and troubleshooting concerns from operational users over phone and email communication.

  • Shift work is expected, this position is to support 24/7 operations.

  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code and other SaaS Monitoring tools

  • Able to perform on call after hours support as part of the rotation

  • Work closely with the Test team and Field support team to provide any required software support

  • Pro-actively monitors SaaS environment conditions to proactively solve potential future issues or route to appropriate PoC

  • Participate in testing of new software and plugins

  • Replicate errors received from operational users for testing

  • Good documentation and communication skills

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understanding of military organizations and commands

  • May travel to other locations as required performing related duties

  • Good interpersonal relationship skills and able to work with a wide variety of technical engineers and employees

  • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours

  • Other duties as assigned

MUST-HAVES:

  • Experience with customer support role

  • Good documentation and communication skills

  • Understanding of military organizations and commands

  • Experience with ServiceNow

  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is preferred

  • Requires a BA/BS in Related Field.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and basic network routing protocol

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Requires a BA/BS in Related Field.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and basic network routing protocol
