About the Role:
The Activities Assistant is essential to enriching the lives of our residents. Working in a collaborative environment, this role assists in implementing recreational and social programs that enhance the quality of life for our community members.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in organizing and leading engaging recreational programs for residents
Facilitate resident activities in both group settings and individual interactions
Foster teamwork and open communication to support meaningful resident connections
Use creativity and problem-solving skills to manage tasks and coordinate events efficiently
Provide positive, life-enriching experiences that align with our values of Care, Trust, and Respect
Must be comfortable around smoke as we take residents out on smoke breaks
Qualifications:
Experience with older adults in a long-term care or similar setting
Patience and empathy to work with residents at varying levels of care
Comfortable reading aloud to groups; background in art or music is a plus
