Metrology Technician ROCGJP00028645 A leading biotechnology company is seeking a Metrology Technician. The successful candidate will coordinate service activities relating to the calibration, maintenance, and repair of calibration standards and instruments. The ideal candidate has two or four years of progressive experience as a Field, Calibration, or Instrumentation Technician. Metrology Technician Pay and Benefits: * Hourly pay: $25-$35/hr * Worksite:: Leading biotechnology company (South San Francisco, CA 94080 - Onsite) * W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL * 40 hours/week, 5 Month Assignment Metrology Technician Responsibilities: * Coordinate service activities relating to the calibration, maintenance, and repair of Calibration Standards and Instruments. * Perform entry-level maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs on Calibration Standards to ensure measurement accuracy and proper traceability to international standards. * Interact with customers; including scientists, engineers, and production staff to pick up Instruments in need of service and collect technical information. * Perform shipping and receiving to external vendors of instrumentation equipment and Standards in need of calibration and/or repair. * Review and process external vendor calibration and repair documentation per established procedure. * Work with external calibration vendors and procurement to create and establish purchase orders (PO's). * Manage blanket PO's spending and request additional funds when necessary. * Verify stock levels of consumable Standards and order as necessary. * Verify stock levels of calibration stickers and order as necessary. * Assist with the identification and purchasing of Metrology approved equipment Standards. * Attend cGMP, safety, and technical training as required by department policy. Metrology Technician Qualifications: * 2-4 years of progressive experience as a Field, Calibration, or Instrumentation Technician. * Completion of an Instrumentation or Electronics 2-year curriculum at a technical school, or an AA / AS Degree in a related science or engineering major, including substantial relevant on-the-job training. * Related military training may be substituted for an AA/AS degree. * Able to organize and complete all assigned work by the scheduled due date. * Knowledge of fundamental electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or calibration principles. * High level skill use of personal computers; SAP experience is a plus. * Able to build and repair equipment. * Able to pay close attention to details. * Customer service oriented. * General knowledge of cGMP and GLP practices. * Able to perform work with minimal supervision. * Good oral and written communication skills.
