ManpowerGroup Cybersecurity Engineer in South San Francisco, California

Our client, a leader in the biotech and life sciences sector, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be part of the security team supporting various projects aimed at enhancing network security and identity management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

What's the Job?

  • Manage and improve identity and access management (IAM) systems, focusing on integrating secure authentication methods.

  • Identify and resolve cloud security issues, using automation to prevent and remediate misconfigurations.

  • Conduct proactive threat hunting and expand detection capabilities to enhance incident response.

  • Assess firewall configurations, optimizing settings and policies to strengthen defenses.

  • Evaluate and implement new features and automation to reduce false positives and increase overall system efficiency.

What's Needed?

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security engineering and operations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven expertise in configuring and optimizing firewall technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with identity and access management solutions, particularly secure authentication integrations.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF and CIS.
