Analyst: $54,000 to $121,800 per year

About this position:
The Engineer/Analyst will primarily be involved with all aspects of Business Development. This position will be responsible for identifying and perusing new electric business opportunities by building/ maintaining strategic relationships, conducting in-depth market analysis, and negotiating contracts.

About this job:
Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Analyze data, performance metrics, and financial reports to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth.
Assist in developing strategies by evaluating market conditions, competition, and customer behavior. Then provide recommendations on pricing, product offerings, and target markets based on their analysis.
Generate reports and dashboards to track performance, forecast trends, and measure the effectiveness of initiatives. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of initiatives. Provide insights into customer behavior and preferences to identify strategic product/utility offerings.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.
Negotiate and influence stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes in deals and partnerships.
Prepare presentations and present to management and/or customers
Coordinate projects between stakeholders from other affected departments
Understand NorthWestern energy electrical design standards
Ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs
Maintain compliance with all related standards including industry and regulatory
Perform computer related functions such as drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations
Perform individual lifts up to 25 lbs.
Provide project oversite
Respond to customer growth/expansion request, including site visits
Travel to jobsites, off-site meetings, and trainings (up to 15% travel per year) including overnight stays when necessary

Engineering Position will also include the following duties:
Address technical challenges or issues that arise during the process or implementation phase
Work on complex opportunities where technical specifications, compliance, and integration with existing systems are crucial. May be involved in the installation and implementation phases to ensure that the customer's needs are met
Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and demonstrate how the company's products or services meet those needs. This involves creating customized solutions, providing technical support, and sometimes even assisting in the design of systems that fit the customer's specifications
Combine engineering knowledge with sales skills. Should understand the utility company's products or services in-depth, such as power generation equipment, transmission systems, or software solutions

A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
A master's degree in business administration, analytics, economics or related field is a plus
Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Possess strong computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Experience in business development or electric utility preferred
Knowledge of NESC and NEC
Knowledge in project management principles and fundamentals desired
Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
Relevant experience may include business strategy, market research, financial analysis, statistics, and communication.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

E or ability to obtain P.E. a plus

Experience in electric distribution or transmission engineering, modeling and construction preferred
Experience with PLS-CADD, PSSE, CAPE, GIS systems and survey techniques desired
Knowledge of NESC and NEC
Knowledge in Project Management principles and fundamentals desired
Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
