Job Title: Project Architect

Job Description

• Perform code review, comply with project budget and schedule

• Select, evaluate, and implement design components used in projects

• Evaluate existing conditions and formulate responses to challenges

• Responsible for significant aspects of larger projects and work on smaller projects

• Handle daily design and technical development of projects

• Supervise and produce Construction Documents through CAD and BIM

• Coordinate and perform QA/QC of consultants’ work

• Understand the planning board

• Conduct Construction Administration for select projects

• Possess advanced knowledge of construction techniques and material selection

• Maintain project files for multiple projects simultaneously

• Document and communicate specific project tasks to clients and teams

• Comply with internal project budgets (team hours)

• Design and implement project scope of work, complying with schedules

• Manage between 1 to 15 projects at a time

Hard Skills

  • Architectural Licensed (Preferred)

  • Revit proficiency

  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Education and/or Public/State Projects

  • Technical experience in all phases of design, documentation, detailing, and construction

  • Staff management and training for junior designers

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Raritan, New Jersey and some days remote.

Work Environment

25 people in the firm. 4 total principals, with 3 active. Office located in Central, NJ. The office environment is 'work hard, play hard' with team outings, bagel Fridays, happy hours, etc., but the day-to-day is fast-paced and hectic at times. The role involves working on new construction projects of schools and office buildings requiring steel frame construction. Knowledge of building codes is essential, and public sector experience is a plus due to bidding and contractor requirements.
