As a Safety/Maintenance Supervisor at our Somerset, NJ facility, you'll champion the protection of our people, environment, and assets while overseeing safety, environmental compliance, capital projects, and maintenance planning. In this role, you'll build relationships, coach, and influence stakeholders at all levels to enhance our HSE culture.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage the local HSE system to meet DSM-Firmenich standards and regulatory requirements.

• Investigate injuries, illnesses, and incidents to improve the management system.

• Understand site operations and risks, ensuring effective risk mitigation through the Management System.

• Develop and oversee a risk-based HSE audit program and ensure contractors meet safety training requirements.

• Coordinate maintenance planning, manage the Kitting Area, and handle capital and maintenance projects, including preparing requests and soliciting bids.

• Maintain records for permits, certifications, and equipment calibration. Oversee facility and grounds maintenance and respond to repair needs.

• Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and Production to develop and update maintenance strategies in line with capital projects.

You bring

• BS degree in Engineering discipline

• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies and industrial risks assessment.

• 3-5 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing environment and Chemical Process Safety

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong technical skills

• Familiar with root cause and risk assessment methodologies
