Planning & Reliability Engineer – Somerset, Nj.

DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Originate and develop analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes

  • Acquire and analyze data.

  • Prepare diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Conduct analysis of reliability problems and investigate to determine the required reliability approach for a particular situation, with consideration given to cost limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment.

  • Determine cost advantages of alternatives and develop action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.

  • Improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access.

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity; effective planning of all maintenance work orders; full accountability for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work orders including, but not limited to, contractor work, preventative work, predictive work, and routine maintenance; and for the coordination of labor, parts and material, tools and equipment, and equipment access.

  • Duties also include: Develop PM program inside a CMMS including critical SOPs; understand and improve KPI's; manage a work order request system that can track time, labor, materials and completed projects; recommend solutions or recovery plans to delays or schedule impact; and analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against plans.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Must have at least 1 year experience working on projects within a manufacturing company.

  • Experience in inventory management and control, including material forecasting; project management including cost and budgeting experience; experience with Lean Manufacturing (5S, JIT) and using SAP or Lawson, also required.

  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical systems; Supply Chain and Logistics; and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point); CATIA or SOLIDWORKS; Root Cause Analysis, GD&T. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex/technical information required. 40 hours per week: M-F: 9am-5pm.
