Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

Support construction and maintenance of PSE&G Inside Plant resources and facilities, including substations, transmission switching stations.

Job Responsibilities

-Perform supervisory duties in connection with the daily operations of the substation spare parts & equipment group.

-Supervise associates and contractors related to the acquisition and distribution of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for the routine and emergency maintenance of electrical equipment in switching stations, substations, relay control houses, and transmission assets.

-Direct activities necessary to maintain optimal levels of inventory for the successful completion of all required scheduled maintenance in accordance with business plans.

-Perform and participate as needed in a 24/7 on-call schedule for equipment failures after normal business hours.

-Plan daily work schedules and revise in accordance with failures and emergencies as needed.

-Train and coach employees towards the safe and productive completion of their duties and responsibilities as needed.

-Supervise the periodic maintenance and repair of spare capital substation equipment in accordance with manufacturers and Company standards.

-Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations.

-Provide direction and leadership and apply benchmark learnings to focus efforts on achieving company and business unit goals.

-Monitor, review and provide guidance to meet scorecard metrics around safety, productivity, reliability and customer service.

-Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSE&G Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.

-Perform Inventory counts Utilizing the Utility Management SOX Control MM271.Create Material Masters (CL/CD) for valued, non-valued, and capital spare inventory.

-Maintain internal database for Project Materials for tracking availability.

-Perform Monthly Storage “Care & Custody” Protocols required by Asset Management for Major Equipment.

-Travel to various PSE&G locations may be required as business needs. As an employee of PSE&G, you should be aware that during storm/outage restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and your regular work schedule. You may also be required to work in an alternate location.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience. Or in lieu of a degree, HSD/GED and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in Supply Chain and substation / switching station equipment.

  • Understanding of Substation & Switching station equipment.

  • Familiar with internal and external audits process.

  • Proficient working with MS Office Access Database, Word, Teams, and Excel.

  • Proficient in the use of SAP Materials Management module and Ariba.

  • Extensive experience with original equipment manufacturers and after-market parts suppliers.

  • Must have a valid U. S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and interface with other groups in the Division as well as Asset Management and other P&C associates.

Desired:

  • Understanding of work management systems.

  • Ability to assist with troubleshooting, identifying, and analyzing replacement parts for substation equipment.

  • Familiar with NERC CIP 013 process and procedures for Substation Spare Parts.

  • Familiar with EPA requirements for handling and tracking SF6 gas.

  • Note: Primary work location will be 232 Davidson Avenue, Somerset NJ 08873.
