Amentum is looking for a qualified Shipping & Receiving Clerk in our Solomons Island, Maryland location.

Job Summary:

Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping/receiving goods of the establishment. The clerk follows established guidelines. Position reports to Supervisor.

Prepares finished product for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers, the specific operations performed being dependent upon the type. Knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content selection of appropriate type and size of container; inserting enclosures in container; using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage; closing and sealing container; and applying labels or entering identifying data on container. Performs range of supply duties to include but not limited to, receiving, material handling, warehousing, and issue of all types of repair parts and materials.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. Provide feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• Must be US Citizen

• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a US Government issued Common Access Card
