We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Transformation System Specialist within our Onshore Resources and Carbon Management (ORCM) group based in West, Texas

 

The Operations Transformation System Specialist  is responsible for assisting in the transforming and optimizing of  field operation control systems across the Enhanced Oil Recovery Business Unit (EOR BU).

 

Responsible for assisting a field operations Control systems to align to the field of the future goals set within the EOR BU across multiple disciplines, including Surface and Surveillance operations, and alongside Production Ops Leadership support to achieve the following:

 

       Focused on integrating Field control systems into the control room for remote control

       Will work with surface and surveillance teams to develop processes and tools to integrate systems for improved efficiencies across EOR.

       Develop OSPI tools to improve surface surveillance operations across EOR.

       Work with various 3rd party companies to develop and assist in implementation of OSPI tools across EOR.

       Support systems dedicated to Control Room, Scheduling/Maintenance Team, SWAT Team and their respective responsibilities.

       Identifying and prioritizing remote start operations practices for facilities and creating timelines for deliverables across EOR on an asset level

       Manage schedule of Remote start implementation across EOR.

       Assist Asset Teams in achieving improved work life balance for staffing  due to remote operations

       Responsible for adherence to Company Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines, as well as all applicable laws within the asset’s operations

       Assist with all data collection points for CBM or Machine Learning projects

       Work with automation and electrical teams to collect various PI tags

Qualifications

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  years of experience  
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the petroleum industry or 10 years in production and automation operations, EOR operations preferred.

Professional and Technical Knowledge/Qualifications/Licences/Certifications: 

   Demonstrated safety leadership skills

   Demonstrated understanding of engineering and operating principles required, recognized accomplishments in production, facilities, drilling, completions or reservoir engineering or production operations

   Strong business acumen with understanding of economic analysis, risk assessment, and value capture

   Demonstrated understanding of required business processes and regulatory requirements

   Working knowledge of project management skills

   Experience working in organizations with multi-discipline staffs

   Understanding of multiple artificial lift types, applications, design criteria and options with gas lift, beam and ESP experience preferred

   Knowledge of field production operations and facility maintenance

   Understanding of surface and facility operations

   General knowledge of drilling and completions operations

   Demonstrated strong leadership skills managing multi-disciplined teams

       Strong communication and networking skills with ability to influence without direct authority

       Demonstrated quality decision making ability

       Drive for results, sense of accountability for both personal and team performance

   Demonstrated creativity in problem solving and ability to implement new ideas

   Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity, effectively acts without having complete picture

   Expert level understanding of automation and electrical design principles.

   Understanding of PSSRs and MOCs

   Knowledge of RTUs. Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting
