We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join an accounting services firm that we represent. The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities, from small business bookkeeping and payroll services to sales tax and individual & business tax return preparation. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining financial strategies, ensuring compliance, and improving overall financial performance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Review and process payroll for our small business clients.

  • Manage bookkeeping operations such as invoicing, account payable, and cash flow.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for clients.

  • Ensure timely filing of sales taxes, income taxes, and other statutory filings.

  • Prepare, review, and file individual and business tax returns.

  • Assist in tax planning and compliance activities.

  • Collaborate with team members in formulating strategic tax planning.

  • Prepare and present financial analyses, including monthly variance analysis.

  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets or forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree preferred.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in an accounting or tax firm.

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel.

  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Excellent skills in managing business tax returns and financial forecasting.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

    Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Competency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Payroll and Bookkeeping processes

• Experience in preparing Sales Tax Returns, Payroll Tax Returns, and Multi-state Tax Returns

• Knowledge of Accounting Services best practices

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Creative Solutions - UltraTax software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Current certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
