Schwartz Farms, Inc. Livestock Worker in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota

Need 15 full time, temporary, seasonal Livestock Workers to work at locations in Brown, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lac qui Parle, Martin, Redwood, Renville, and Watonwan Counties in Minnesota. From: 12/23/2024 to 09/30/2025 Work: 40-56 hours/week: workers will be on a mandatory rotation to work two consecutive weeks Mon.-Fri. 40 hours/week 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the third week Mon.-Sun. 56 hours/week 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. JOB DESCRIPTION: Workers will assist with breeding and farrowing during peak pork production season, and with helping baby pigs survive birth. Other duties include performing animal health checks and power washing animal pens and buildings to maintain biosafety protocols and to prevent diseases from spreading throughout the farm. Perform routine maintenance on power washing equipment used. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 6 months experience. Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Able to perform work that requires extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. Must be available every third Saturday and Sunday, per the mandatory rotation work schedule. No High School Diploma or GED required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
