Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor directs, supervises, and coordinates functions of the warehouse to meet customer expectations. Contributes to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere and encourages good work habits.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, support, and direction.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.

  • Oversee the accurate receiving, storing, and issuing of warehouse materials.

  • Implement and maintain efficient inventory control procedures.

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to create a secure working environment.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for warehouse staff.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Coordinate regular maintenance and inspections of warehouse equipment.

  • Collaborate with management to implement changes that enhance warehouse operations.

  • Maintain effective communication channels with other departments to facilitate smooth operations.

  • Report on key performance indicators, warehouse metrics, and project status.

  • Assure staffing requirements are met.

  • Encourage team member growth and development.

  • Administer team member performance reviews, goal setting, and participate in salary planning.

  • Maintain records on direct reports in relation to attendance and performance.

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

  • Previous experience with shipping, receiving, or warehousing is preferred.

  • Previous leadership experience preferred

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations and materials handling.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

  • Capability to coach, mentor, and empower team members to succeed.

  • High level of patience and service.

  • Ability to motivate team members.

  • Problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify waste and creatively look for solutions.

  • Capacity to be flexible and multitask.

  • Proficient with a computer, including Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
