Avera is currently seeking RN – Diabetes Management Educator!

Position Highlights:

Job Summary

The Diabetes Management Educator provides individual and group diabetes self-management education, assists with diabetes patient management as part of a multi-disciplinary team, conducts community and health professional education related to diabetes, and serves as a resource for nursing staff relative to diabetes education and basic nursing care of the diabetes patient.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Experience in diabetes inpatient care and/or diabetes education preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.

  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification required within 24 months.

  • Membership in diabetes-related professional organization(s) preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks

  • On-call 1 weekend per month

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $26.25 - $39.25 per hour
