Job Summary

  • A licensed paramedic experienced in emergency medical services, who is responsible under the direction and supervision of the Emergency Department Physician and Unit manager for providing high quality patient care according to established standards of performance, the philosophy and objectives of Avera.

Education and/or Experience

  • Required to be proficient in all EMS skills and familiar with various EMS training techniques.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • National Registration as an EMT Paramedic required.

  • South Dakota License as an EMT-Paramedic required.

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.

Work Schedule

  • Varied shifts; 72 hours/2 weeks

  • Main ED: 1000-2230, 1200-0030, and 1400-0230; ED West & ED East: 1100-2230

  • Your schedule will be provided 6 weeks in advance

  • Call Time: 1 shift every 6 weeks from 1300-0130 (once fully trained)

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $20.00 - $28.75 per hour
