Requirements

What you will do:

  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.

  • Conduct training and presentations for environmental, health and safety matters and accident prevention.

  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.

  • Maintains compliance with all local, state and federal governmental permits, reports and documentation (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)

  • Inspects facility, equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions and environmental risks.

  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims in partnership with Human Resources.

  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.

  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.

  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.

  • Ability to demonstrate our company values in everyday work interactions.

  • All other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • 3+ years’ experience as safety manager

  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred

  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines

  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills as well as attention to detail and observation ability

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
