What are we looking for?

The Training Specialist shall collaborate with the reviewer’s community, subject matter experts and other project teams to define training requirements, develop training content, and support training delivery as needed based on the project requirements. This includes collaborating with the leadership team in the development of program reports (e.g., Quarterly Reports, Annual Report).

Furthermore, the Training Specialist will provide communication and technical writing support in the form of developing communication materials in multiple formats (e.g., graphics, website) to promote awareness reviewer tools and services.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Propose and implement tools for evaluating offerings and resources

  • Assess and analyze the effectiveness of all current reviewer and staff training offerings in terms of meeting training objectives

  • Assess program efficiency in terms of level of effort currently used to develop, revise, and deliver training and resources

  • Identify recommendations to improve current training and resource offerings based on feedback and program efficiency analysis

  • Work with the review community (clinical/nonclinical) to gather and document training requirements

  • Apply best practice instructional design principles to design new training resources or enhance existing training resources in accordance with program delivery structure

  • Develop/enhance training resources based on training requirements and incorporating subject matter expertise

  • Publish and post new/enhanced training resources in accordance with program operations SOPs

  • Deliver training session(s) as per training plan

  • Draft, develop, and send final communications in the form of emails, announcements, reference cards, presentations, graphics, flyers, posters, and videos, as directed

  • Develop communication materials to be presented to stakeholders and audiences (e.g., public presentations, leadership team, reviewers)

  • Work with leadership to define reporting framework aligned to strategic plan and priorities

  • Support project teams in aligning goals and metrics with reporting framework and developing mechanisms for collecting report data

  • Collect data/accomplishments from project teams on a quarterly and annual basis and produce program reports

  • Support other training activities as directed by Project Manager

  • Support DRT business development activities as directed by Portfolio Manager

    This is you:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

  • 10+ years of experience in training development & delivery

  • Ability to manage the concurrent training activities and priorities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft product suites

  • Demonstrated knowledge of eLearning authoring tools, such as ADDIE, Adobe Captivate, and TechSmith Camtasia

  • Experience with videoconferencing/meeting tools, such as Microsoft Team, Zoom, and Cisco WebEx

  • Ability to select and apply appropriate instructional design principles, methodologies, and adult learning principles, in the design and development of all training materials

  • Must be flexible to be able to adapt to changing customer requirements

  • Ability to recognize and respond to problems, issues, and risks; communicate clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner (verbal and written); garner support and operate with political savvy

  • SME in instructional design

    Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, education, or a related field.

    Currently due to the remote working status of the federal government, most DRT employees are teleworking from home and leveraging video conferencing along with other virtual productivity tools. Under normal circumstances, most of our positions are required to report onsite. However, DRT has not yet determined when employees will be required to return to their onsite workspaces. Please be aware that at the time a date is determined to return to the worksite, the requirement of this position may be to report in person to the work location.
