Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Electronic Document Technician to support KITS and our government customer in Silver Spring, MD. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Koniag IT Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Document Technician to lead and oversee our Electronic Document Room (EDR) operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, supervisory, training, communication, and records management skills, along with the technical expertise to maintain databases, electronic files, documentation, and various types of electronic media. The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is required for this position.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The Senior Electronic Document Technician will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Electronic Document Room (EDR) operation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and lead the EDR team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure efficient and effective operations.

  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline EDR processes and improve overall efficiency.

  • Manage the lifecycle of electronic documents, ensuring proper indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposal in accordance with established policies and regulations.

  • Maintain and administer electronic document management systems, databases, and related software applications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and implement solutions to meet organizational needs.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.

  • Analyze EDR operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

  • Provide training and support to end-users on electronic document management systems and procedures.

  • Monitor performance metrics and prepare reports on EDR operations and activities.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the Computer Science or Information Management field.

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is required.

  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and project management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Proficient in electronic document management systems, databases, and related software applications.

  • Knowledge of records management principles, practices, and relevant laws and regulations.

  • Ability to analyze and streamline processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and security.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Experience in a government or regulated industry environment.

  • Knowledge of information security principles and best practices.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based document management solutions.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Experience with process automation and workflow optimization.

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Records Information Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
