​Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Records Management Supervisor to support KITS and our government customer in Silver Spring, MD. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Koniag IT Systems is seeking an experienced Records Management Supervisor to oversee and manage our client’s records management operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information and records management, project management, and personnel management. This position requires a hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with federal user organizations and technical staff.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The Records Management Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our records management operations, including document processing, scanning, data entry, and paper and electronic file management. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for records management activities

  • Plan and schedule production and allocate resources to ensure turnaround requirements are met

  • Manage employees and workloads for document room activities, such as scanning, document processing, data entry, and file management

  • Collaborate with federal user organizations and technical staff to understand and meet their records management needs

  • Serve as the project alternate to the Project Manager, providing support and oversight

  • Ensure compliance with life-cycle records management practices, including the use of file plans, records inventories, and retention schedules

  • Utilize contemporary project management tools and methodologies to streamline operations and enhance efficiency

  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates and addressing concerns

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in an information and records management environment

  • Knowledge of contemporary project management tools and core principles of effective management

  • Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with federal user organizations and technical staff

  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills

  • Knowledge of life-cycle records management practices, including file plans, records inventories, and retention schedules

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and allocate resources effectively

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in a federal government or government contracting environment

  • Familiarity with records management software and systems

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., NARA, DoD)

  • Certifications in project management or records management (e.g., PMP, CRM)

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
