Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

Under the general direction of the Regional Chief Nursing Officer the Project Manager collaborates with nurse leaders in all areas where nursing is provided to develop, improve, and sustain structures and processes that promote an optimal practice environment resulting in a highly engaged work force and outstanding patient care outcomes. Serves as a mentor, resource, and change strategist to advance the practice of professional nursing within the nursing professional governance model. Functions as Magnet Program Coordinator and is (a) accountable for timely submission of required reports and/or information to the ANCC Magnet Program Office, and (b) serves as a subject matter expert responsible to ensure professional practice standards and outcomes required for ANCC Magnet designation are understood, met and maintained.

• Develops and maintains emphasis on evidence-based practice through modeling, mentoring, facilitating, and educating to ensure key learnings are being communicated.

• Assumes oversight of professional development, clinical advancement program, peer review, preceptor, mentoring programs, and retention strategies.

• Promote nursing excellence, recognition, and empowerment through nursing professional governance, development of nurses.

• Improve nurse-sensitive and patient outcomes through interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Coordinate and support other activities related to professional nursing practice and care innovation as assigned by the Chief Nursing Office.

• Assumes responsibility for coordinating nursing and interprofessional research, using evidence-based practice methodologies to improve patient care and nursing practice.

Performs duties of a highly confidential nature that requires a comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies, practices and procedures. Composes and prepares complex correspondence and reports, gathers and interprets information to develop complex reports, maintains departmental files, and provides exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

  • Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, or related field. Doctorate preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a Magnet designated hospital.

  • Previous experience and knowledge with the Magnet or Pathways to Excellence Recognition programs.

  • Highly organized and skilled professional with a commitment to excellence and will possess the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Possess excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, while displaying a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member is essential.

  • Intermediate (minimum) computer skills, versant in Microsoft applications.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships.

  • Ability to lead teams effectively and apply principles of performance improvement, quality management, and relational coordination.

  • Ability to analyze and communicate relevant data, accurately evaluate complex problems, develop solutions, implement plans, and evaluate outcomes.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, cope effectively with change, and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
