Job Summary: Provides counseling to residential and to non-residential experiencing domestic violence/sexual violence. Facilitate therapeutic and educational support groups, maintain client records, coordinate with other El Refugio departments, and collaborate with community agencies and other systems involved with client. Provide support for crisis calls as needed.(30 hrs per week)

Essential duties:

• Provide domestic and sexual violence counseling to clients and to non-residential individuals.
• Responsible for client intakes, assessments, progress notes and other documents required by finders, maintain files with all necessary paperwork. Responsible for closing of files, boxing up files up with correct closing dates.
• Provides crisis intervention with clients, as needed.
• Works closely with shelter direct and shelter advocates in providing resource to residential clients.
• Answers Hotline calls and provides support as needed.
• Participate in supervision and other scheduled meetings.
• Commit to obtaining continued professional development as required by Licensure and funders. Maintain state Licensure.
• Completes all timekeeping records and reports as required by funders.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a master's degree from an accredited counseling, social work, or therapist training program.
• Licensure in NM in accordance with requirements of the NM Counseling and Therapy Practice Board, or NM Board of Social Work Examiners.
• 2 years of clinical experience, ideally directly with domestic violence survivors primarily and under another grant, sexual violence survivor counseling.
• Must Pass a national background check, drug and alcohol test and TB test.
• Must have a current driver's license and current insurance and malpractice insurance.
