Link Solutions Inc. is seeking a VMware Systems Administrator (Intermediate-Level) to join our team on Fort Huachuca located in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

  • Must be a US Citizen 

  • Active DoD Security Clearance

  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

As the VMware Systems Administrator, you will provide technical support and system administration support on the Fort Huachuca military installation. You will be a part of a diverse team supporting a globally distributed information system, responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more secure operating systems.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance within the VMware environment.

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to hosted tenants.

  • Design, plan, implement, and administer enterprise blade server and storage technologies in support of underlying virtualization infrastructure.

  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.

  • Install, configure, and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

  • Perform backups, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

  • Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.

  • Build and configure virtual networks.

  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of hardware maintenance, upgrades, repairs, or replacements supporting the virtualization infrastructure

  • Provide advice and training to end-users.

  • Administer enterprise VMware-based virtualization infrastructures covering vCenter ESXi environments version 6.0 and later.

  • US Citizen

  • Active DoD Security Clearance 

  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).

  • Two (2+) years of relevant experience or a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Experience with Cisco FlexPod, VMware (or equivalent virtualization technologies), or Network Attached Storage systems with a comprehensive understanding of computer concepts.

  • Experience with network installations and upgrades.

  • Current Computing Environment (CE) certification (required within 90 days of performance start date).

Preferred:

  • IAT Level III Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, etc.).

  • Knowledgeable in creating a PPS (Ports, protocols, & services) request.

  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

  • Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.

  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

  • Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users. 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. 

  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
