If you are a Technical professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious Supervisors to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a laboratory Supervisor to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

AS A HVACR Engineering Lab Supervisor, YOU WILL:

  • Lead a team of technicians to integrate new compression technologies into our labs.

  • Engage with various internal teams to execute implementation of new technologies into our labs.

  • Lead a team of technicians to perform engineering requested test plans.

  • Engage with local and regional tech schools to recruit new talent

  • Provide timely feedback on performance for your team through a performance evaluation system and complete salary planning based on performance of the individual technician.

  • Coach and grow the talent of your team to keep up with changing compression technologies.

  • Operate the lab under the methods of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

  • Operate under 5S and lean principles to remove waste and increase Delivery.

  • Drive a culture of Safety as top priority.

  • Provide Timely Recognition for performance that is above and beyond expectations.

WHO YOU ARE:

You will be responsible to lead a team of mechanical technicians to perform at a high level of quality and throughput.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma plus 10-15 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Prior Leadership with 5 years proven leadership.

  • Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills

  • Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs

  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Associate's degree plus (7-10) years of leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair

SCHEDULE:

This position is on first shift and will consist of 5- 8 hour work days Monday through Friday. This position is salary exempt.

About our Location

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning-related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions. With the blend of businesses and functions represented under this one roof, there are many opportunities for advancement within the Sidney location.
