Recovery Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a Recovery Specialist to join our team in Cumberland and Perry counties. This role will meet with multiple consumers on an ongoing basis to address their needs, provide intervention and support services, and assist consumers in achieving their recovery goals. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of their personal recovery process and will be expected to educate themselves about processes other than their personal path. Individuals in this role will need to be highly organized, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Recovery Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey by offering guidance, advocacy, and encouragement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. The position requires personal experience as a person in long term recovery with a pathway that the individual can articulate. The position will be located at our West Shore location with up to a day a week in Shippensburg and Perry County. 

 

Recovery Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized recovery plans with consumers, including goals and objectives

Monitor consumer progress and provide ongoing support and guidance

Meet with consumers on an ongoing basis, providing support, mentorship, and guidance

Document consumer sessions and assessments during their service process

Connect consumers to appropriate community resources and services

Introduces and engages participants in the recovery community

Provide crisis intervention and support services

Provide education and resources to consumers

Maintain accurate records and documentation

Provide telephone recovery support when applicable

Coordinate with other professionals to ensure continuity of care

Maintain satellite office under the direction of the Program Director

 

 

Recovery Specialist Requirements and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years of sustained abstinence from all drugs and alcohol.

Valid driver's license and car insurance

Knowledge of substance abuse, mental health, and physical health recovery services

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Able to multitask and prioritize efficiently

Proficient in the use of digital technology

Is a Certified Recovery Specialist or will be able to become a Certified Recovery Specialist within 6 months

 

Wages And Benefits

$18.27 per hour/40 hours a week

Two Weeks Paid Time Off after 90 days
