Plant Human Resources Manager

ABOUT YOU:

This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Human Resource policies, practices and systems to insure positive employee relations at a plant or plants. The Plant Human Resources Manager manages the overall human resources function and services for the plant, including payroll, staffing, performance management, benefits administration, employee recognition programs, health and safety, worker compensation, records administration, compensation management, training and development, location communications, community involvement, compliance, employee relations and project support.

This leader is required to be on call and/or available after hours, to provide their own mobile device, and to distribute their mobile phone number accordingly. Alternatively, individuals may distribute their office phone number if their office phone is set to forward calls to their personal device when they are not physically present.

YOU HAVE:

  • Technical skills. Thorough knowledge and comprehension of Human Resources practices and strategies. Must fully observe the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Jostens’ HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures in all matters involving protected health information when working with the Jostens health plan.

  • Attention to detail. Multi-task management skills.

  • Great communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Leadership. Proven track record of managing organizational change, introducing new strategic initiatives and delivering effective human resource solutions.

  • Collaboration. Team minded and positive in all interactions with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience. Minimum 5 years human resources management experience.

  • Education. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

  • Preferred. Human resource management experience in a manufacturing environment.

    YOU WILL:

  • Lead. Supervise an HR Support staff. Provide proactive leadership and change management expertise in support of strategic business initiatives, projects and changes. Serve as lead for the plant for general communications. Facilitate the activities of the location management team to ensure consistent application of policies, procedures and processes.

  • Manage. Provide HR leadership and support for Shelbyville and Laurens locations. Responsible for all aspects of Compliance with Federal, State, and Corporate laws rules and policies

  • Strengthen. Promote HR and Manufacturing Strategic objectives. Evaluate new procedures for maintaining harmony in the organization and establishing goals of a personnel nature to support production.

  • Improve. Identify and implement people practices, policies and systems that will enable growth, improve operating performance, support organizational effectiveness and align with corporate direction. Ensure effective utilization of all location personnel; identify and evaluate capabilities and serve as lead in the deployment of resources to meet business needs.

  • Advise. Provide leadership and direction for the facility Community Relations program. Assist with overall Profit Plan, CIPs, Satisfaction and Motivation, Staffing and Retention.

  • Update and maintain. Complete and execute Affirmative Action Plans. Ensure fair treatment of all employees and candidates

  • Oversee. Responsible for Occupational Health and Safety, Employee Communications, Community Involvement, Education and Training, Process Documentation, Position Descriptions, and Litigation. Conduct HR audits and corrective action plans.

  • Implement. Ensure precise delivery of Compensation and Benefits, and all other personnel aspects of Human Resources.

  • Typical/expected % of overnight travel: 5 – 20%
