Huron-Clinton Metroparks (Part-Time) Golf Course Clubhouse Worker in Shelby Twp, Michigan

PAY RATE:  $15.70/hour DOQ (Up to 1,500 hours per year)

The Golf course work season ranges between late March until late November.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involves the operation of the golf clubhouse building and maintenance of the golf course.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ensures that the Clubhouse Building and select areas of the golf course are kept clean.

  • Registers all golfers and records the tee time on the POS system.

  • Adheres to power cart rental hours.

  • Maintains an adequate change fund and accurate daily revenue reports.

  • Informs the facility manager or Operations Department of low inventories.

  • Maintains orderly flow of golfers off #1 and #10 tees.

  • Records reservations including processing “on-line” reservations.

  • Sells sundry merchandise. 

  • Assist patrons with golf carts.

  • Cleans restrooms and the clubhouse.

  • Operates golf ball picker on golf driving range.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.

  • Ability to communicate using telephone.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.

  • Ability to traverse sandy, marshy and wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.

  • Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.

  • Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.

  • Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.

  • Ability to perform essential duties.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to apply knowledge of materials, tools, practices and methods of golf course maintenance.
