The Charter Township of Shelby Parks, Recreation & Maintenance Department is now accepting applications for a Part-Time/Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Person. Interested applicants must be available to work approximately 30-40 hours a week, Monday - Sunday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., during the summer. The hourly wage for this position is $16.97 per hour, no benefits. Applicants must be over the age of 18 to operate Township vehicles and equipment. Some of the job duties associated with this classification would include, but would not be limited to:

• Open Parks: check/empty trash cans, check restrooms for cleanliness or problems, rake playground areas, etc.
• Preparation of ball fields; rake, drag fields with groomer, chalk lines, change bases
• Mow and whip turf
• Weed/mulch landscape beds
• Shovel snow, salt sidewalks
• Trim walk/hiking/biking trails of brush
• Plow sidewalks and parks
• Paint
• Pick up and deliver parts and supplies
• Plant flowers and shrubs
• Assist full-time employees with various projects
