Actalent Controls Engineer in Shelby, Michigan

Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

1st shift plant controls opportunity. The primary responsibilities include: - Programming, troubleshooting, and debugging assembly equipment - Making program changes by adding or removing steps as needed - Working on machines such as assembly machines, sonic welders, Clip machines, and RAP machines - Assisting with the installation of new machines brought in by other companies, ensuring proper programming - Supporting the manufacturing team with computer software and program needs - Collaborating with Maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and secondary tooling/equipment issues - Tracking and ensuring secondary tooling is completed correctly and successfully launched Travel: None Hours: 1st shift (7:00am - 8:00am start time); on call at times due to production schedules; 45-50 hours per week. Daily Routine: - Start the morning by reviewing the "open issues list" to identify machines that are down or need work - Receive direction from the manager as needed - Document completed work in an Excel spreadsheet at the end of each shift to track real-time issue resolution.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Michigan.

Work Environment

Plant environment that is hot in the summer due to plastic injection mold machinery. Currently, there are 2 other controls engineers on staff, with a target to have 3 to share the workload. The culture emphasizes communication and teamwork, with the manager actively involved in addressing issues. The dress code is business casual.
