Actalent DEATS Technician in Shawnee, Oklahoma

Job Title: DEATS TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a DEATS Technician to perform a wide range of analytical tasks related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical power distribution facilities. Projects include the design of distribution facilities for residential, commercial, and small industrial customers, relocation of existing distribution facilities, and improvements to the distribution system such as minor expansions, conversions, and rebuilds.

Responsibilities

  • Create work orders, job sketches, material lists, cost estimates, and update the GIS system for new jobs, property damage, and correction of errors to facilities.

  • Use Arc FM GIS mapping to manage job assignments.

  • Review inbox for jobs from service representatives and area personnel to ensure they meet standards and safety rules, design jobs, and submit for approval (90% of the day).

  • Handle after-the-fact jobs, typically following storm damage.

  • Create work orders in SAP for linemen for after-hours and storm work, with monthly training provided.

  • Perform similar tasks to the existing team with a bit more variety.

  • Ability to work under direct supervision and follow established procedures

Work Environment

Currently, the team is working remotely, so a strong internet connection is required. Once teams return to the office, this position will be based in Muskogee, OK, and the candidate must be willing to commute daily. The work environment includes extensive computer work in an office setting, with standard hours of Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and potential overtime. The role also involves outdoor work, requiring the ability to traverse rough terrain, exposure to hazardous conditions, working in extreme weather, and wearing PPE. Additional requirements include working overtime, weekends, and holidays, being available for call-outs, and responding to storm damage. The role involves travel, including overnight stays, and requires physical activities such as using small hand tools, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 lbs, performing repetitive motions, and reaching in any direction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
