Job Overview

TimberPro is part of the Komatsu group of companies and due to the growth of the Komatsu Forest division, we are looking to add a Buyer to the team.

The Buyer is responsible for the planning and procurement of materials to support short-term OE and Aftermarket sales for our TimberPro products. This employee will ensure orders are received to quality specifications from suppliers on the required due dates through expediting and overall order management to prevent production stoppages and workforce downtime. Additionally, the Buyer will visit the shop floor to conduct review of the production master schedule and assess inventory needs as relates to production levels.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Purchases assigned production and after-market parts in the required quality and quantity to meet customer requirements.

  • Meets all delivery goals and provide proper inventory levels of required parts and components to meet planned production schedule while considering excess and obsolescence inventory levels.

  • Provides support to the Buyer-Planner in purchasing and forecasting. Utilizes the Master Schedule to ensure materials are procured on the appropriate timeline.

  • Conducts root cause analysis, establish counter measures, and maintain performance metrics to achieve business plan objectives.

  • Create, manage, and refine forecasting methods for TimberPro Products.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum requirement five (5) years of Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must possess analytical/critical thinking skills. 

  • Proficient with MS Office applications Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Infor Syteline or XA is a plus, but not required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • CPIM, CSCP or CPM Certification a plus.

  • Up to 10% travel to vendor sites required.

  • Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company.

  • Must comply with all environmental, quality, and safety rules, practices, and standards.
