Victory House Admissions Coordinator in Shamokin, Pennsylvania

The Admissions Coordinator is an important role at Victory House, as you are the first person a potential client speaks to. This role's main duty is to screen potential clients for placement at Victory House. Victory House is a 30 bed inpatient hallway house for adult men with substance use disorder. Victory House aims to empower individuals to continue their recovery journey after rehab in a safe, secure, and supportive environment.

Job Description                                        

  • Admissions speaks directly with individuals and referral sources to conduct pre-screening assessments with potential clients
  • Primarily responsible for the admission and/or registration of patients into the facility and maintaining communication between the organization and the patient referrals and family (if applicable)
  • Persons in this role are responsible for assessing clients and screening of patient referrals to guarantee that client is meeting criteria for hallway house according to ASAM standards
  • Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.
  • Admissions play a vital role in ensuring all clients have a chance at recovery and that they are supported to have access to treatment services
  • The admissions person is responsible for answering all potential admission calls and completing necessary screening questions
  • Must be able to multitask, ability to manage time efficiently and handle high-stress situations
  • Understanding of funding processes, obtaining the initial authorization of care with the insurance company.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrates excellent phone skills including inquiry calls, explanation of assessment processes, scheduling appointments 
  • High attention to detail
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality laws and regulations
  • Communicate with persons seeking treatment via phone and/or email with referral sources. Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to manage inputting of client data into programs, for example, company EMR, PA Promise, WITS.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries and ethical behavior with clients, families, and other professionals
  • Bed board management
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or other management

Position Qualifications:

Education: minimum of high school diploma or GED preferred

Experience: A minimum of one (1) years' experience in customer service

A minimum of one (1) years' experience in Healthcare Admissions preferably in mental health or substance use disorder
