Sierra Nevada Corporation Mission Systems Operator III in Shalimar, Florida

Are you a seasoned mission systems operator looking for a meaningful work environment that supports and protects heroes? Join our team! As a Mission Systems Operator (MSO)/Airborne Mission Commander (AMC) III, you will be using your skills and expertise to support our overseas operational missions using Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) principles. You'll be responsible for operating our airborne sensor equipment, primarily RADAR and MX-15 technologies, to acquire, track, and monitor airborne, ground, and/or maritime objects of interest in routine and dynamic target area searches and performing pre-flight, inflight, and post-flight duties.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute all assigned preflight, flight, post flight, and Mission planning duties that are required to operate an assigned sensor suite safely and effectively

  • Mission system inspection, operation, troubleshooting, debriefings, intelligence product preparation and distribution, and mission documentation

  • Provide analysis and distribution of multi-source information via on-board aircraft communication systems

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience, including military training, may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Progressive experience with CRM and Airmanship

  • 1000 hours of flight time knowledge of ARC-231

  • Advanced knowledge of Small Secure Datalink (SSDL) radio functionality

  • Thorough understanding of RADAR Theory and MX15HDi camera technology

  • Working understanding of Crew Resource Management (CRM) and how to apply it on an aircraft

  • Working knowledge of the PRC-117 radio

  • Working knowledge of ISR communications (talk ons, radio calls, etc)

  • Familiarity of MX15 sensor systems

  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations

  • Ability to pass FAA Class III Medical

  • Working knowledge of Orion, TORCH or similar MSO/ASO moving map software

  • Must be able to multi-task

  • Must be able to work with limited direction

  • Working knowledge of mIRC

  • Can type at least 30 words per minute

  • Valid US passport

  • Ability to deploy on a 75/45 or 60/60 rotation

  • Ability to work 7 days a week, 10.5 hours a day work schedule

  • An active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Airspace

  • Basic understanding of ELINT, SIGINT, and COMINT

  • Working knowledge of RADAR

  • Background in the Aerospace Defense Industry, DoD or US Military

  • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Previously worked in an austere environment

  • Experience with computer networking
