Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with machining on both multi-axis lathes and Haas mills, and will be open to working on both types of machines. While experience on both machines is not required to start, familiarity with either is essential. This role involves setting up machines with the proper tooling, inspecting parts, and performing minor program edits. The majority of the tasks are repeat jobs with varying run lengths, requiring at least 2-3 setups per week. Documentation and inspections will be done using iPads, height gauges, micrometers, and calipers. You will primarily work with aluminum and steel in a clean and well-lit shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining on multi-axis lathes and Haas mills

• Set up machines with proper tooling and perform tool changes

• Inspect parts using dial micrometers, digital calipers, and height gauges

• Perform minor program edits

• Document work and inspections using iPads

• Execute short runs (8-10 parts) and long runs (3-4 days)

• Perform at least 2-3 setups per week

Essential Skills

• 1+ years' recent experience machining with mills OR lathes

• Comfortable setting up machines with proper tooling

• Experience with multi-axis lathes (major plus)

• Experience with Haas mills (major plus)

• Familiarity with setups

Work Environment

The machine shop has 10-12 employees and is part of a larger company with nearly 100 employees. It is clean, organized, and has a dedicated area within the building. The primary materials worked with are aluminum and steel. The shop is well-lit and provides a conducive environment for precise and efficient machining.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
