Jamestown Sklallam Tribe Urinalysis Technician in Sequim, Washington
The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribes Healing Clinic (JHC) is seeking a skilled and experienced part-time Urinalysis (UA) Technician to join our integrated care clinic. This position is responsible for various duties related to collection, processing, reporting, observing, and recording of urine samples on site for male patients.

As an UA Technician, you will:
Observe collection of urine samples from clients of the same gender in accordance with established procedures for substance abuse testing protocol
Monitor and tracks process of drug control testing while adhering to strict confidentiality
Process laboratory orders and post results for providers in a timely manner while maintaining proper and efficient communication with appropriate staff
Consistently ensure a clean and sanitary UA restroom
Assist and address all client concerns and questions regarding the UA process
Maintain ordering of all testing supplies on a regular basis
Strictly adhere to the JHC standard operating procedures and workflow, in handling collection, samples, and information to ensure accuracy and consistency
Maintain records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) of urine and/or other test submissions; update patient record as necessary to ensure accuracy
Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct
Processes all urinalysis documentation for scanning and provides case management support to counselors
Collect, audit, and enter data and all requisite patient information into the Treatment and Assessment Report Generation Tool (TARGET) database
Cross train for other JHC positions
What are the Required Qualifications for this position?
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures; experience in processing, managing files and accurate record keeping
Knowledge of medical terminology
CPR/First Aide Certification or ability to complete employer provided training upon hire
Knowledge of substance use disorders and their effects on individuals, families, and communities
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
Ability to work in a cross-culture environment, understand the social and cultural context of the patients at the JHC including the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery
Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2)
Computer proficiency and familiarity with data entry
Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation
Uphold all current vaccine requirements for employment
Valid Washington State Drivers License; ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned
What are the Preferred Qualifications for this position?
Associates Degree
Experience in business administration or office management
Previous experience working with patients with substance use disorders and/or primary care experience
Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations
Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision
American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
