This is a seasonal position that may become full-time!! Aprox. 20 hrs. per week. Basic Job Responsibilities: * Proactively patrol the mall property as instructed. * Provide a highly visible security presence to help deter criminal activity and violation of the client's Code of Conduct and act promptly to address unacceptable behavior. * Seek opportunities to interact with customers and tenants and be friendly, helpful and attentive to enhance their experience at the property. * While on patrol, be alert and identify potential safety hazards, mitigate found hazards, and notify the client of conditions of concern. * Respond to, investigate, and write reports on all incidents and accidents including medical emergencies, fires, alarms, bomb threats, etc. in accordance with the mall's Operating Procedure Manual. Requirements * Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements. * Must have a high school diploma or GED, or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history. * At least one verifiable employer, prior customer service experience preferred. * No criminal convictions as specified under guidelines. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing. * Authorized to work in the United States. * Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. * Negative result on pre-employment drug screen. * Successful completion of Security Officer Basic Course exam and other Mall Security Training Courses. * Ability to be trained to correctly use handcuffs and pepper spray. * Hold a valid Drivers License. * Ability to patrol mall facility by foot up to a potential distance of eight miles per day. * Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard. * Neat and professional appearance. * Friendly and professional demeanor. * Ability to provide quality customer service. * Ability to effectively handle typical and crisis situations at the mall.
