Job Description

The Senior Technical Program Manager role is part of Gen AI team under Developer Platform organization of Nordstrom. Gen AI is responsible for creating tools and patterns that advance the Nordstrom Technology Organization with Generative AI solutions. This position involves crafting the technical strategy to evolve our organization by leveraging cutting-edge tooling, aiming to make all engineers at Nordstrom more productive. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business and technical strategy, with the potential to fundamentally change Nordstrom's core business.

This Senior Technical Program Manager will lead and drive the programs under the Gen AI team. The ideal candidate has experience in AI/ML or GenAI. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders from all functions within the company, exert influence across multiple teams within Nordstrom Technology, and leverage cutting edge tech to enhance productivity across organizations.

A day in the life…

  • Manage cross functional programs impacting enterprise that have complex requirements, high risk, and multiple dependencies.

  • Drive the development and execution of the delivery roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, product, and business, to establish a shared vision and requirements.

  • Understand the relationship between technology and the business and how technology enables core capabilities and business unlocks.

  • Utilize cost, risk, and work estimates to prioritize backlog items and shape the roadmap.

  • Proactively propose adjustments to the roadmap when necessary to keep the program on track and achieve objectives.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on enhancing production stability and reliability.

  • Effectively manage urgent issues while maintaining focus on important project work.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

  • Influence stakeholders and manage dependencies to ensure the optimal overall solution.

  • Measure success, gather data, and leverage insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

  • Handles urgent issues as they arise while continuing ongoing important project work, finding the right balance for the business in partnership with Product Management and Engineering Leadership.

  • Seen as a subject matter expert, and able to appropriately represent technical details of their systems in a variety of contexts with a variety of audiences.

You own this if you have…

  • A bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience

  • Demonstrated successful enterprise program delivery

  • Management of programs with cross-functional stakeholders and VP-level communication

  • Knowledge of SDLC and engineering best practices

  • AI/ML or GenAI experience preferred

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $120,500-$220,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
