Amazon Support Engineer, CE Tech in Seattle, Washington

Consumer Electronics Technology (CE Tech) is hiring Support Engineers! We are innovating how customers shop for electronics, digital video games, subscriptions, warranties, wireless plans, bundles, and more!

We’re looking for Support Engineers who are passionate about high standards, software quality, engineering excellence, and leading large and complex projects from start to finish. As a Support Engineer in CE Tech, you'll be part of an amazing central team with opportunity to work across 15 talented engineering teams throughout the organization. This includes developing tools, applications, and scripts to resolve operational challenges, and providing expert-level troubleshooting and support for our services.

As a Support Engineer, you will:

• Develop tools and automation to enhance operations and reduce maintenance

• Own and lead engineering excellence projects across multiple engineering teams

• Perform extensive troubleshooting and debugging to resolve issues spanning multiple product lines and teams

• Maintain and improve existing code in various programming languages (e.g., Java)

• Read and understand complex code, making fixes to resolve issues

• Support software deployments in staging and production environments

• Generate system and support status reporting

• Own the support and continuous improvement of multiple services

• Partner closely with engineering teams to hand off or take over active operational issues, building team knowledge and skills

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of software development, or 4+ years of technical support experience

  • Experience scripting in modern program languages

  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems

  • Experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow

  • Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of distributed applications/enterprise applications

  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system

  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful web API calls

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $182,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
