Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America, Inc. has the following position available in Seattle, WA:  Staff Software Engineer (CIPTF): Design and deliver large scale distributed software systems. Maintain and migrate existing software systems. Mentor team members. Assist with recruiting and hiring of team members. Manage large software engineering projects or processes with limited oversight from management. Work to achieve operational targets with major Impact on the departmental results. Be responsible for managing complex software engineering projects involving delegation of work and review of work products.

Telecommuting is permitted up to three (3) days out of the week.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or foreign degree equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Special Requirements: Education or experience must include:

1. Cloud architecture and micro-services design patterns;
2. Designing scalable, reliable and secure E2E services in cloud environments;
3. Software project management, including management of complex projects.
4. Concepts of API design, load balancing, containerization, disaster recovery and leveraging IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS as appropriate.
5. Deployment of applications onto systems with multiple versions and generations.
6. Agile development methodologies.
