CRAFT3 Staff Accountant - Loans in Seattle, Washington

As the Staff Accountant -- Loans, you'll be responsible for assisting with the financial accounting and for Craft 3's loans receivable and payable. This position is responsible for supporting the Assistant Controller's goals and Craft3's mission and is responsible for supporting and helping to maintain policies, procedures and a system of internal controls to safeguard the assets of Craft3. The Staff Accountant -- Loans is responsible for supporting the Assistant Controller, Controller and CFO in collaborating with Craft3's independent accountants to help ensure the successful audit of its financial statements and completion of its tax and information returns.

This position collaborates with the Assistant Controller in an integral part of a distributed accounting team that is working independently from remote locations.  Frequent communications in all forms are of vital importance in a successful Accounting and Finance team.  The goals of the Staff Accountant -- Loans support the goals of the Assistant Controller, Controller and the CFO and the goals and mission of Craft3.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, shared files system and Contact Relationship Management systems.

*Accounting leadership: *

Supporting policies, procedures and internal controls and planned changes.

Processing daily ACH and check batches for loan payments and disbursements.

Processing participation loan remittances

Tracking and requesting payment for notes payable payments.

Accounting for non-accrual and debt recovery loans.

Completing month-end loan accounting journal entries.

Collaborating with lending teams to record transactions in the lending software.

Maintaining timely balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned by the Assistant Controller - Loans.

Supporting the goal for monthly and quarterly, financial statements being published within 10 business days of month-end.

Supporting the effort for the audited consolidated financial statements to be issued within 120 calendar days from year-end and without material adjustments or material weaknesses in internal controls.

Supporting with tax accountants needs for the timely filing of federal, state and local tax and information returns.
